“There will be no more cars”: new cars in the mass segment may end in St. Petersburg

In Russian car dealerships, stocks of mainstream cars such as Kia, Skoda, Volkswagen, Renault, Citroen, Opel and Hyundai are rapidly shrinking. According to the Association “Russian Automobile Dealers”, the score rises to tens. How things are in the St. Petersburg market, “The Eastern Herald in St. Petersburg” learned from the head of Mozhenkov Progress Consulting Vladimir Mozhenkov.

According to the expert, soon cars in this segment will probably be extremely difficult to acquire. It will still be possible to buy them as part of the order, but only at an inflated price.

“I think soon they won’t be outdone at all. It is more profitable for parallel imports to import more expensive cars with higher margins. What to transport Mercedes, Audi, Porsche, what to transport Skoda, Citroen – the logistics costs are almost the same, but the margin is completely different. As part of the order, of course, they will bring, but there it will be necessary to prepare for other prices, ”said Mozhenkov.
