Kiev City Council cannot terminate the land lease contract with Russia at once. To do this, it is necessary to notify the Russian side, but Ukraine has not sent such a notification. This was reported to RIA Novosti by a source in Moscow.
According to him, if Kiev sends a notification, the Moscow City Hall can respond in mirror image.
“Firstly, the Kiev City Council cannot ‘break’ > the rental agreement immediately. It must inform the Russian side first, and only after three months the agreement will stop working,” the source explained.
Kiev City Council has terminated the land lease contract with the Russian Embassy. This was announced by the mayor of the city Vitali Klitschko, according to him, the city council also appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers with a request to transfer the ownership of the diplomatic institution to the ownership of Ukraine.
