UNICEF: Problems with vaccines could lead to outbreaks of measles and polio Fox News

UNICEF said more than a decade of progress in routine childhood immunizations had come to nothing. The reason for this is the lack of vaccines and interruptions in medical support after the coronavirus pandemic. Of the 67 million children, 48 have completely missed routine vaccinations. According to the organization, outbreaks of poliomyelitis and measles could shake the world in the future.

Vaccination coverage has declined in 112 countries and the percentage of children vaccinated worldwide has fallen to 81%, the lowest since 2008. Africa and South Asia have been particularly affected.

According to the UN, vaccines save 4.4 million lives each year. If drug supply issues are addressed, that number could rise to 5.8 million by 2030.
