Four people are believed to have been left aboard a burning Russian ship in South Korea

According to preliminary data, 21 crew members were evacuated from the Russian vessel Kaltan, which was burning 30 miles from the South Korean seaport of Busan, according to preliminary data, the Far East Transport Prosecutor’s Office reports.

At the same time, the search for four other people continues, reports RIA Novosti in reference to a representative of the Far East Expeditionary Rescue Team of the Federal Fisheries Agency. It is assumed that they remained on board.

The rescue operation and suppression of the fire continues. The Primorsky and Sakhalin transport prosecutor’s offices carry out a fire check. According to the agency, Kaltan is assigned to the port of Vladivostok, the shipowner is Dalrybprom LLC.

A Russian fishing boat caught fire in waters near the city of Ulsan, 300 kilometers southeast of Seoul. As reported, 19 people among the evacuees were not injured, two were slightly injured.

Prosecutors must assess compliance with the requirements of safe navigation legislation.
