Italian authorities try to freeze the assets of the son of the ex-head of the Krasnoyarsk Territory

Italian authorities are taking steps to freeze the assets of the son of the former governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Artem Uss, in connection with his escape to Russia from house arrest, the head of the Italian Ministry of Security has said. Justice, Carlo Nordio. His words son local edition of Il Comizio.

“We are carrying out the necessary checks to find out if it is possible to apply the procedures for freezing the assets of Artem Uss, at least we will try to influence (the situation)”, assured Nordio, speaking in the room Italian bass. parliament.

Il Comizio writes that Uss Jr. is co-owner of the four-star Don Diego hotel in Sardinia, and a few months before his arrest he bought an apartment in Milan. Nordio claims that the decision on the measure of constraint in the form of house arrest, which was chosen for Artem Uss in December 2022, was taken by the judges on their own initiative, so the Ministry of Justice does not could not influence what was happening.

The Minister of Justice of Italy explained that the inspection launched against the judges is not intended to put pressure on them, but to understand the situation from the inside. He recalled that the American side has repeatedly warned about the risk of Uss escaping from house arrest, at the request of which the son of the former governor of Krasnoyarsk was detained.

At the beginning of April, he himself announced that he was in Russia, after which Nordio initiated disciplinary proceedings against the judges of the appeal court, who released him under house arrest. According to the head of the Italian Ministry of Justice, their decision was “insufficiently weighed” and did not take into account the “strong concrete threat of escape”.
