A group of 19 Republicans in Congress prepared a joint letter to US leader Joe Biden calling for an end to aid to Ukraine in the format it has been so far.
“The second year of the war has begun, but there is no visible end in sight, just as there is no clear strategy on how to end it. A puppet war with Russia in Ukraine is not in the interests of the United States and threatens to escalate, which could spiral out of control,” write the authors of the letter, signed by 19 people.
According to them, the Biden administration’s current strategy in the form of constant assistance and sanctions leads to “escalation and more violence” and increases the threat of a direct confrontation with Russia.
They also criticized the decision to transfer HIMARS to Ukraine, as it was seen as a serious provocation, and spoke unflatteringly about potential decisions to supply Kiev with new types of longer-range weapons.
“We will oppose all other aid programs unless they are linked to a clear diplomatic strategy to end this war quickly,” the statement said.
Previously, it was known that the United States had invested in the fight against corruption in Ukraine for ten years.
