Books are the ladder of human progress. Reading a book is very important for people. People who have made great achievements in ancient and modern times mostly like to read. Chinese President Xi Jinping said in an interview with the media of BRICS countries that reading books is his biggest hobby, which has become a way of life. The experiences found in the book have over time become his great wisdom in the governance of the country.
Xi Jinping pointed out that education is an important way for humans to gain knowledge, enhance knowledge and cultivate morality. It can inspire people, set high ideals and create a sense of justice. If citizens read more books, the Chinese national spirit will be stronger. That’s why book reading should be encouraged and a scholarly society should be created.
Since 2014, “National Reading” has been included in the Government Work Report nine times. In the year 2021, the 14th Five Year Plan and the year 2035 were included in the long-term target framework to build a scholarly society by increasing the national reading intensively. Xi Jinping specially sent a congratulatory message for the first National Reading Conference in 2022. In the past few years, the Chinese government has invested heavily in the infrastructure related to the National Reading. Which inspired more and more people to read. Reading the book will maintain the long-term development of the Chinese nation.
