Kozlov also spoke about maintaining the pace of replenishment of oil and gas reserves, mentioning the prerequisites for creating a gas production cluster in Yakutia. Along with this, the minister assumed with a high degree of probability an increase in gold mining in Siberia.
In addition, Alexander Kozlov announced plans for the development of seven deposits for the extraction of lithium, niobium, beryllium and tantalum. Given the growing demand for raw materials in world markets, it is highly likely that investments in the Russian mining sector will increase.
Earlier, the minister had a meeting with the head of the Sakha Republic, Aisen Nikolaev. During the conversation, it was proposed that Yakutia become a pilot region for an intensive increase in the mineral resource base. This will attract investment to the republic and encourage the further development of these territories. According to the results of last year, the volume of investment in exploration in Yakutia amounted to about 50 billion rubles.
