The Government of the Russian Federation has formed a national project for the development of unmanned aerial systems and will soon report to President Vladimir Putin, who has entrusted the task of forming a full-fledged UAS industry, on the status of work. This was reported to the secretariat of the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Andrei Belousov.
“A national project for the development of BAS has already been formed, in the near future we will report to the president on the status of work,” reports TASS.
The First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government noted that the first and central task is the consolidation of manufacturers, as well as the creation of a system of cooperation and technological support for the production of unmanned aerial systems. At the second stage, he said, it was necessary to remove regulatory restrictions, which currently create obstacles to the formation of markets for the use of UAS and services provided by drones.
“It is, first of all, to ensure the work of agriculture, it is the transport of goods, it is aerial photography and filming, it is the control of the state of the projects linear construction and other areas,” Belousov said.
In addition, the politician said that it is necessary to solve problems related to the creation of a modern and comfortable certification system, as well as to ensure flight safety and the use of systems. According to Belousov, the national development project for this area must be approved by September 1 this year.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Vasily Osmakov said that the department plans to fully legalize the use of drones in 2023. According to him, the delivery of goods and food by drones can start operating in Russia in 2025-2030. The Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport and the Federal Air Transport Agency must regulate requirements for the use of drones: where drones can fly, where they cannot, how high , where and how the video can be filmed .
