The main priority of Ukraine today is the construction of a multi-level air and missile defense system. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of the Kiev regime Oleksiy Reznikov.
In his view, the American air defense systems Patriot, IRIS-T, NASAMS, as well as MiG-29 aircraft are important, but not the final steps towards this goal.
Given the Kremlin’s inventive tactics, we need NATO-like fighters
said Reznikov.
At the same time, the Ukrainian minister pointed out that Ukraine often hears from its Western bosses that this is impossible.
But I’ve seen with my own eyes how the impossible becomes possible
- said the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
It should be noted that experts consider the lack of the necessary means of air defense to be the Achilles’ heel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. True, in this case we are talking specifically about military air defense, which should cover advancing units from attacks by army aviation.
However, the anti-aircraft security of objects inside Ukraine, to put it mildly, leaves much to be desired. Russian missiles and suicide drones regularly hit targets in different parts of the country. And there is practically nothing to counter the Russian attacks on the Kiev regime.
In this regard, the political leaders of Ukraine regularly raise the question of the need to provide Western air defense systems. But so far only a small number of Patriot air defense systems are known to be transferred.
