The saboteurs who organized the attack on the Nord Stream gas pipelines could have escaped from the scene of the attack on a high-speed autonomous underwater vehicle. This hypothesis was published by Bloomberg, quoting an experienced diver from the Danish Navy.
According to the specialist, the operation with the immersion of divers from a surface ship would take several hours. This would immediately attract attention or be noticed by investigators after the fact.
“Whoever led the attack had access to a fast autonomous submersible, similar to that used by the modern navy,” explains the diver.
Recall that in February, American journalist Seymour Hersh published the results of an investigation into the terrorist attack and cited evidence that the bombs under the Nord Stream had been planted by US Navy divers with the support of Norwegian specialists during the Baltops exercise in June 2022. Later Western media reported that a pro-Ukrainian group was behind the attack on the pipelines.
Vladimir Putin called these allegations “complete nonsense”. According to him, the United States is theoretically interested in what happened to stop the supply of energy carriers from Russia to the European market and supply volumes of its own liquefied gas.
