Scottish actress Emma Laird probably had no idea the hate she would receive when she shared a photo on social media on Tuesday.
She is currently starring in a movie called The Brutalist, where she co-stars with English actor Joe Alwyn, and it’s her image that has caused all this uproar.
Many people may wonder why an image caused such a strong reaction, but there is a simple explanation. Joe Alwyn and singer Taylor Swift recently announced that they have called it quits after six years of dating. It was reported that the breakup took place in the larger fraternity as they simply discovered that they were too different for the relationship to work long term. They would still love each other.
Believe there’s a worm in the whey
However, fans have not accepted this explanation and believe that there must have been something wrong. They most likely think Joe was unfaithful to Taylor or something. This rumor was further fueled after fans noticed that Taylor’s friends and loved ones had unfollowed Joe on social media, which must have indicated that there had been injuries along the way that were of the Joe’s fault.
So when Emma posted the photo, fans thought they had the answer. She and Joe were clearly nose to nose and that was the reason for the breakup.
It didn’t seem to matter that Emma shared this photo with several others that showed more people and the only thing she wrote with the photos was that they were photos that reflected the month of March in her life.
The hate has gone so far that Emma has now blocked comments on her post.

“That’s very suspicious. Especially if it’s true that she (Emma) is posting a stream of messages about Taylor and Joe breaking up. It looks like she wants some attention. Well, now she’s got it. got it,” wrote another.
However, Taylor Swift fans, or Swifties, are divided into factions, and the other faction has come to Emma’s defense and criticized others for bullying.
“The Swifters attacking Emma Laird need to come down to earth.” Are you seriously speculating that Joe cheated on Taylor without knowing anything about it and then you send hate to him? Find a job or a hobby. Just something,” one wrote.
“Some Swifties scare me. It saddens me that Emma Laird had to turn off comments on Instagram because of rumors that Joe cheated on Taylor.”
