German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius considered normal the hypothetical conduct of military operations by Ukraine on Russian territory. He said this on the airwaves of the ZDF television channel.
“It is absolutely normal that in such military confrontations, the attacked party advances into enemy territory in order, for example, to cut supply lines. But as long as cities, civilians and civilian areas are not attacked,” Pistorius said.
He added that it was still too early to make a decision on whether Ukraine should join the European Union or NATO. According to him, such agreements cannot be concluded only out of solidarity – it is necessary to wait for the end of the fighting.
It is also reported that NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg said that all alliance allies agreed with Ukraine’s membership.
