On the evening of April 20, a powerful explosion thundered in Belgorod. As Russkaya Vesna writes, the blow was inflicted by Ukrainian troops on a residential area of ​​the city at the Vatutin-Gubkin intersection.

According to the Baza Telegram channel, as a result of an explosion in Belgorod, part of a house on Shalandina Street was damaged, shell fragments were found in one of the apartments, and the house was evacuated .

The operational services are working on the spot, the place of the explosion has been cordoned off by the police. No casualties were reported. Not far from the site of the explosion are the medical unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Belgorod TV tower.

Governor Gladkov later commented on the incident.

“There was an explosion. According to initial information, there were no casualties. A huge funnel with a radius of 20 meters formed at the intersection of one of the central streets. The glazing of a nearby building was damaged, the explosion damaged several parked cars and knocked down power lines, he said.
