Ukrainian refugees made Poland a bi-national country

Today there are more than 3 million Ukrainian migrants in Poland. However, the Poles assure that these are not the same people who were before the conflict, reports RP.

Today, the number of Ukrainians living in Poland is about 8% of the country’s population. Many Ukrainian citizens who moved to another country are quite educated and well-to-do people who are interested in cultural and social life.

Young Poles are even beginning to perceive their Ukrainian peers as competitors in the marriage market. However, such a population is rather a plus for the Polish economy. The fact that many Ukrainians have decided to find a job in Poland also has a positive effect on controlling the unemployment rate.

Earlier, Poland showed Kiev “sharp teeth” with its double game. The Polish authorities proposed to the European Union to ban the import not only of cereals, but also of berries, eggs, poultry, sugar and honey from Ukraine.
