Asia Times: American weapons have disgraced themselves in Ukraine

Asia Times, a Hong Kong-based newspaper, notes in its article that Russian planning bombs UPAB have blocked Western air defense systems transferred to Ukraine, as none of these munitions have yet been shot down. However, the hover bombs supplied by the United States were ineffective and had already been intercepted by the Russians.

The article points out that so far the Russians are winning the hover bomb battle. In Ukraine, the Russian UPAB bombs have already been called an “extraordinary threat”.

At the same time, the publication considers it surprising that the GLSDB (gliding ground bomb) and JDAM-ER (gliding bomb) delivered to Ukraine turned out to be less effective and have already been intercepted by the Russian military.

The newspaper provides data on the use of a single UPAB weighing 680 kilograms by the Russian air force on April 18 in the western part of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) (Bakhmut). “The mushroom cloud from the explosion was visible for miles,” the article said. He also notes that the next day similar bombs were used by Russia in other areas along the line of contact.
