Bild: Russia expels 34 of some 90 German diplomats

By information BILD, 34 of the approximately 90 German diplomats in Moscow are forced to leave the country. It was a mirror response by the Russian Foreign Ministry to the mass expulsion of Russian diplomats from Berlin.

Earlier it was reported that Germany decided to expel more than 20 Russian Embassy employees.

The German newspaper reports that the two countries will reduce the upper limit on the number of employees of diplomatic missions.

Today it was also learned that a Russian Il-96 plane, which had “diplomatic clearance”, took off from Moscow to Berlin early in the morning. The plane is currently back in Russia. It is not known if there were any passengers on board.

The German Foreign Ministry said it was in contact with the Russian side to staff the relevant embassies.
