Investments and tourism: Murmansk and Pskov regions discussed cooperation options

Today, a meeting of representatives of the government of the Murmansk region with a delegation of the government of the Pskov region took place at the Regional Management Center. Read more in the material “The Eastern Herald in Murmansk”.

During the meeting, colleagues discussed assisting in the implementation of best practices of the Regional Investment Standard and exchanged experiences of working with investors across regions. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Arctic Development and Economy of the Murmansk region.

Deputy Governor of Murmansk region Olga Kuznetsova stressed the importance and the need to work to improve the investment climate. This will help maintain the momentum of investment activity, stimulate the creation of new small and medium-sized enterprises and attract new investors. She also shared her successful experience in developing the investment and tourism climate in the region.

The share of industrial production in the GRP of the Murmansk region is 47.8%, including manufacturing industries – 33.6%. The number of tourists in 2022 is expected to exceed 500,000 people, indicating an increase in interest in the region. The dynamics are clearly visible in comparison with the indicators of 2019, where the highest value was 458,000 tourists.

On this occasion, the Deputy Governor of the Pskov region, Ninel Salagaeva, stressed the importance of strengthening interregional ties through the exchange of experiences and practices to strengthen the country.

The Pskov region delegation also managed to visit the NOVATEK-Murmansk industrial site as part of its working visit to the Kola Arctic.
