Nikolay Peskov, the son of the Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov, confirmed that he served in the PMC Wagner in the area of the special military operation, reports website KP.RU. Earlier this was stated by the founder of PMC “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin.
“It was my initiative. And absolutely my decision,” he told reporters.
Nikolai explained that he turned to his father because he did not know how to contact the PMC Wagner, and he helped him.
He added that he decided to go to the NWO area because he felt he had an obligation to participate in order to help everyone there. Nikolai says he couldn’t sit down when his friends went.
According to Nikolai Peskov, his father and other family members asked him if he understood where he was going, but after hearing an affirmative answer, they did not dissuade him.
As for the Wagner PMC, Nikolai said the team there was friendly and they accepted him normally, but they didn’t know who he was because he had a different surname.
Nikolai Peskov spent just under six months in the troops. He said he rarely managed to call his wife and father and say everything was fine with him. At the same time, Nikolai confirmed that he was afraid in the war zone. At the same time, he was awarded the “Pour le Courage” medal for his service.
“I’m incredibly proud of everyone who is here now, all the guys are doing a great job. And I think that all the tasks set will be fulfilled. I’m convinced of that,” Nikolai Peskov summed up.
