April 22 is the main day of the All-Russian subbotnik, which the Tver region has traditionally adhered to. Cleanup and landscaping activities in neighborhoods and boroughs across the region began in mid-April. In particular, work is being carried out at the facilities participating in the federal project “Formation of a comfortable urban environment” initiated by the President of Russia and the national project “Housing and urban environment”.
“The Subbotniks have become traditional events for the region. For many years, area residents have been involved, including remediating popular recreational areas. This is important when there is a well-maintained public space near the house. This is an opportunity to relax, to go for a walk with the children,” Governor Igor Rudenya said.
In total, more than 170 courtyards and public spaces are put in order this year. About 5,000 locals are expected to participate in the All-Russian subbotnik.
During the subbotnik, not only the cleaning of courtyards and public spaces is organized, but also the ordering of monuments and small architectural forms, the planting of trees and flowers, the planting of flowers and trees, the painting benches, borders and fences.
Among the sites where local residents are bringing order today are the embankments of Gavan and Fadeev in Kimry, laid out according to the federal project, the skate park and the City Garden in Rzhev, Victory Park in Kuvshinovo, the area near from Mozhaisky Square and the Landscape Park on the Tmaka River to Tver.
The day before, as part of the All-Russian Subbotnik, the embankment, courtyards and recreation areas of Bologoye, the village of Veliky Oktyabrsky in the Firovsky district, the Matveev embankment in Vyshny Volochek, the Kashin pedestrian sidewalk and others objects participating in the federal project was put in order after the winter.
In previous years, the territories to be improved within the framework of the national project were chosen by the inhabitants of the districts and districts in the All-Russian vote. This year, 58 projects from 19 municipalities of the Tver region were submitted to the competition. Until May 31, 2023, the inhabitants of the region can determine which territories will be transformed in 2024.
