Former Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico called Ukraine’s possible NATO membership a worst-case scenario. He expressed his opinion on his personal page in social networks.
According to Fico, Ukraine’s entry into the North Atlantic Alliance can only be supported by those who really want a direct military confrontation between the West and Russia.
“We consider Ukraine’s NATO membership to be the worst possible solution, an escalation of tension, a lack of respect for the agreements that the United States and Russia made in the 1990s. those who want an open military conflict between NATO and Russia can support Ukraine’s NATO membership,” he wrote.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that all NATO countries agreed on Ukraine becoming a member of the alliance.
