Official data revealed that the assets of commercial banks operating in the State of Qatar increased during the month of March 2023 by about 2.64% on an annual basis, with the support of local assets and reserves. The assets of commercial banks during the past month, according to a Qatar Central Bank survey, amounted to 1.881 trillion riyals, compared to 1.832 trillion riyals in March 2022. On a monthly basis, the assets of commercial banks operating in Qatar grew by 1.02%, as it was about 1.862 trillion riyals in February 2023. Contributed to the annual growth of the assets of commercial banks operating in Qatar, the increase in the reserves item, which includes balances with the Qatar Central Bank and cash in riyals, last month by 7.27% at 94 billion riyals, compared to 87.63 billion riyals in March 2022. Liquidity growth Domestic liquidity increased by the end of March 2023 by 11.33% on an annual basis, according to a survey by the Qatar Central Bank. Domestic liquidity in Qatar recorded 704.62 billion riyals during the past month, compared to 632.92 billion riyals in March 2022. Domestic liquidity in the State of Qatar also grew on a monthly basis by about 0.39%, as it was about 701.87 billion riyals in February 2023.
