In Rospotrebnadzor, the increase in the incidence of measles in Dagestan is explained by refusals to vaccinate
Rospotrebnadzor department head for Dagestan, Zalimkhan Omariyev, said refusals to vaccinate were causing an increase in the incidence of measles in the region.
As of April 20, 188 confirmed cases of measles have already been registered in the republic. According to the RPN, not all patients were vaccinated.
Omariyev described the measles epidemiological situation in the republic as tense but under control. “People who follow anti-epidemic measures often do not establish contact and refuse to be vaccinated,” he noted as the main reason for the outbreak.
Cases of measles are still recorded in the republic. At the same time, the relevant departments managed to prevent infection outbreaks in kindergartens, schools, boarding schools and hospitals. “This allows us to say that the epidemiological situation is under control,” Omariyev added.
