Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

the conflict in Taiwan will cause about half of world trade to fall

More than 40% of world trade would be disrupted in the event of a war in Taiwan. This statement was made by Taiwanese Foreign Minister Joseph Wu.

“The economic consequences will be enormous. Look at the geographical location of Taiwan: more than 40% of the goods transported in the world pass through the Taiwan Strait,” he said in an interview with the Spanish ABC.

Wu recalled that more than 60% of the world’s semiconductors are produced on the island, and 90% of them are state-of-the-art.

Earlier it became known about Taiwan’s acquisition of up to 400 anti-ship missiles from the American company Boeing. Also, the purchase of Harpoon ground-based tactical missiles is under discussion. It is planned to use modern weapons in the event of a conflict with China.
