Katara events attract art lovers with a variety of activities

Amidst a huge public turnout, the General Foundation for the Cultural Village, Katara, presented a rich and varied program of energizing and entertaining activities on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, which it launched from the first day of the holiday and extended over three consecutive days. The police band will continue to perform today, as the first show will be at 6:15 pm on the Katara Corniche. While the second show will be at 7.50 pm. Among the special events that attracted the audience were the Eid Al-Fitr sessions, which attracted oud lovers, and were hosted by the Katara Oud Center for two days. The first session was revived by Dr. Majid Nazim and the Ruba’i band. As for the other session, it was with the participation of each of the musicians Abdul Aziz Saleh, Muhammad Al-Khuzai, Saeed Buqasha, Saeed Sadiq, Omar Al-Yafei and Riad Boualam. These sessions were admired by the attendees, who praised them for the times they provided to enjoy a variety of arts, including playing the Oud. In this context, Mr. Abdul Hamid Al-Daghmasi says: I believe that Katara is the ideal destination for families to attend various events to suit different tastes. While my children were watching the rest of the activities, I came to the Katara Oud Center to enjoy these elegant sessions. In turn, Mr. Raouf Abdullah said that these sessions have a special character, commensurate with the festive atmosphere of Eid Al-Fitr. He praised the various maqamat presented by the musicians, who traveled with the audience to more spacious areas of enjoyment and fine art. Katara gave an important place to the seventh art through a theatrical performance directed to children entitled World 2030, which was outdoors in Al-Hikma Square, and was very popular with children and families. Actress Hanan Sadek, the director of the work, said that the various performances that were presented over the course of the three days of Eid were wonderful and successful by all standards, as a large audience of children followed the play and interacted with various scenes, and this confirms the success of the play in delivering its message, as it is a fictional journey through time that carries a group From children to the past, where they learn a lesson in the importance of science and work in self-development and society. The play also instills in the hearts of young people the importance of perseverance and insistence on dreaming, and that with diligence everything becomes possible. The play ends with the big dream, which is Qatar Vision 2030, and what will be achieved in terms of sustainable development, a clean environment, and development at all levels. She added that the play was directed and written by Maha Haidar, starring a distinguished group of artists, including Ali Al-Khalaf, Ali Al-Sharshani and Salman Salem, in addition to a group of young artists. As for the general supervision, it is for the artist Hamad Al-Rumaihi. On the other hand, Katara Beach, in turn, witnessed a great turnout from families who preferred to enjoy the atmosphere of the sea, especially since Katara Beach offers various activities through beach games that appeal to children.
