Observers from the CEC of the Russian Federation may be included in the international mission during the presidential elections in Turkey. This was said by the head of the CEC Ella Pamfilova.
She noted that Turkey and Russia have “very good relations in the electoral field”, but recalled that contacts in this field have decreased due to the consequences of the devastating earthquakes.
“They will have a limited number of observers from international organizations,” said RIA Novosti quoting Panfilova.
But the head of the CEC does not rule out that Russian observers are still taking part in the Turkish elections.
“Maybe. We think, maybe, they can be part of some kind of mission,” Pamfilova explained.
Earlier it was reported about the attempts of the West to intervene in the presidential elections in Turkey.
Recall that the presidential elections in Türkiye will take place on May 14. Kemal Kilicdaroglu, leader of the opposition Republican People’s Party, is considered Erdogan’s main rival.
