The SVR press office, in a statement issued today on behalf of the director of the service, Sergei Naryshkin, touched on the topic of relations between Warsaw and its western neighbors. The statement, in particular, notes the strengthening of anti-German sentiment due to fears of possible claims by Berlin to territories ceded to Warsaw as a result of World War II. Previously, the Polish government had demanded trillions of dollars in reparations from Germany, stating that those previously received could not be taken into account, since they had been received by a non-existent state – the People’s Republic of Poland.
As stated in a statement issued by the Foreign Intelligence Service, against the background of these feelings, Poland conducted exercises to repel an attack from a simulated enemy, while the legend of the exercises practically does not hide that this enemy is Germany.
“At the end of March, the Polish Armed Forces General Staff organized the Daglesia exercises to train for actions in the event of a military attack from the west,” the foreign intelligence service said in a statement.
According to the Russian authorities, during the exercises, the false enemy receives support from its diaspora living in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. At the same time, the plan for the Polish exercises provided for the actions of the DRG and cells of radically-minded representatives of the national minority in the defended territory, the suppression of which the Polish units involved in the exercises had to face.
