We can also say “no” in defense of our own interests.

Today the world has such a pattern i.e. on one side there are developed countries of America and the West, and on the other side there are developing countries including BRICS members. The fact is that developed countries like the US sit at the top of the pyramid and suppress their potential competitors. On the other hand, emerging countries are still relatively weak in terms of economic and technological strength, but they can also say “no” with one voice to protect their interests in international affairs. India is the rotating chairman of G20 this year. But it is not an easy role. The G20 Finance and Foreign Ministers’ meetings held in New Delhi earlier this year saw fierce debate among the various countries involved and great difficulties in concluding a final document. On the one hand, the United States and Western countries want to maintain their rules-based international order, but in essence they want to maintain their own interests based on this order. In this situation, solidarity and cooperation among the members of organizations like BRICS and SCO prove to be of special importance.

A notable sign of cooperation between BRICS and SCO is that they respect facts in everything and take an impartial stand on major international issues. For example, regarding the Ukraine crisis, both China and India took a rational approach and actively promoted peace talks, promoting a de-escalation of international and regional situations. We did not supply arms and military equipment to both sides of the conflict. The stand of China, India and other BRICS countries on this issue is really conducive to resolve the question.

BRICS countries support the G20 to play an active role in global economic governance, and urge developed countries to adopt a responsible attitude when formulating economic development policies and not to the detriment of developing countries. However, in order to curb its severe inflation levels, the United States has been raising interest rates, and its effects have clearly had a negative impact on developing countries. The result has been a withdrawal of international capital to the United States and a halt to economic growth. This has created a major obstacle to the recovery of the global economy due to the economic crisis spreading across the world.

Facts have proved that China, India and other BRICS countries have always advocated international peace and cooperation, and supported the means of dialogue to solve problems, whether on security issues or economic development issues. But. We are fully capable of saying a loud “no” to major issues concerning peace and common development and interests of developing countries.
