A heated debate about numbers, history and popularity… Who is the Qatari football leader, Al Sadd or Al Arabi?

Program analysts disagreed "the Council" On Al-Kass channel, in response to a question about who is the leader of Qatari football.. Al-Arabi or Al-Sadd?

In an intervention with the program, Ahmed Al-Ansari, media official at Al-Sadd Club, said that the title of Qatari football leader was given to Al-Arabi in the 82/83 season, when they won the league and the cup as the first Qatari team to combine the two championships.

Al-Ansari added: But leadership is in numbers, and today, like Al-Sadd Club, I am a leader in numbers, and any second team can snatch it from Al-Sadd and become the leader. We have 5 league championships, including 3 in a row, and 5 cup championships.

He explained that Al-Sadd Club is a leader because our numbers are more than all, and it is possible to wrest the leadership from us by another team, and the issue of the title is not important, but we want to clarify this issue, nothing more, nothing less.

For his part, analyst Ahmed Al-Sayed said that Al-Arabi is the leader of Qatari football in origin, as he is the former and original leader, while Al-Sadd was called the White Lion.

Other analysts said that Al-Arabi remained nicknamed the People’s Club, and Al-Sadd took the leadership of Qatari football from him after dominating the championships.
