Secret Pentagon documents published on the web contain not only information about the situation in Ukraine, but also data about the actions of Russian troops in Syria. In particular, it is alleged that the Russian armed forces have already tried to attack American reconnaissance drones MQ – 9 Reaper.
Details of The Drive Shared Edition. As follows from the publication, in November last year, the Russian Pantsir-S1 air defense system operated on a drone. The first attempt to take down Reaper failed.
We can confirm that the Russian-controlled SA-22 (“Pantsir-S1” by NATO) fired a missile at the American MQ-9 on November 27, 2022
- writes The Drive in reference to the representative of the American Central Command in the region, Joe Buccino.
The US military added that after the incident, the command contacted the Russian side and settled the dispute. He pointed out that, despite the agreements between the command of the Russian armed forces and the American contingent in Syria, such incidents occur regularly. The American edition of The Drive, as expected, accuses the Russian military of dangerous actions against American forces.
The illegality of basing the US military on Syrian territory is not taken into account by the authors of the publication. On Sunday, the SANA news agency reported that Damascus had already requested compensation from the United States for the country’s illegal oil export. Syria has called on the international community to end the plunder of its natural resources by the United States and associated paramilitaries.
However, the US military continues to be in Syria, while complaining about pressure from Russian pilots. The Drive reported that in the past month and a half, Russian fighters have flown over US-controlled territories 26 times, calling such actions by Russian Aerospace Forces unprofessional and dismissive of the US military.
