White House Representative John Kirby expressed an unexpected view regarding the upcoming hostilities in Ukraine, reports “Military Review”.

While many pundits are talking about the next Ukrainian counteroffensive, Kirby said Russia could launch an offensive. He added that it is not yet known in which sectors of the front this will happen and what means the Russian army will have at its disposal.

Kirby stressed that the Russian offensive would require the Ukrainian military to be heavily protected and supported by the United States.

  • It can be expected that as soon as the weather improves in the spring, and it starts to improve on the front line, the Russians will go on the offensive. They will want to go on the offensive in certain areas, and it is not yet known which ones. We also don’t know how they will try to do it. But our task is to enable Ukrainians to protect themselves from this.

Thus, Kirby spoke out in favor of strengthening Ukrainian defenses and supporting the United States to counter a possible Russian offensive in Ukraine.

Earlier, Izvestia war correspondent Stanislav Grigoriev said that the Ukrainian army could not carry out an offensive due to weather conditions. According to the military correspondent, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are hampered by rain and slush, which greatly complicates the passage of equipment.
