Military expert, editor-in-chief of the magazine Arsenal of the Fatherland Oleksiy Leonkov noted a radical change in the tactics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the defense of Artemivsk (Ukrainian name Bakhmut). His opinion is quoted by Moskovsky Komsomolets.
According to him, previously, Ukrainian armed formations placed snipers on the upper floors of residential buildings, as well as headquarters and warehouses in the basements. At the same time, after the intensification of the use of planning bombs by the Russian armed forces, the losses increased several times, because after a powerful explosion, the Ukrainian nationalists lost personnel on the upper floors of the building and located in the basements. . In this regard, the Ukrainian army had to reconsider its approaches.
He noted that the Ukrainian armed forces are now focusing on the use of small quadrocopters and that CCTV cameras are placed on the roofs of houses, recording the movements of the Russian army.
At the same time, Leonkov noted that the detection and destruction of these surveillance cameras, as well as the neutralization of quadrocopters, would not be a problem for the Russian army, so a change in tactics would not bring of success to Ukrainian nationalists.
Earlier it was reported that units of PMC “Wagner” began to break through the defense of the Ukrainian army, located behind the “road of life” in Artemovsk (Bakhmut). Under the control of Russian forces is 80-90% of the city.
