The Germans criticized Burbock’s act towards Lavrov

The Germans criticized German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock for refusing an invitation to a meeting of the UN Security Council chaired by Sergei Lavrov in favor of the repatriation of German citizens from Sudan. This became known from the German edition of Bild.

“Burbock was invited, but refused to travel to New York and instead engaged in the repatriation of German citizens from Sudan,” the post read.

Disgruntled comments appeared under the diplomat’s Twitter post, in which she wrote that she was speaking out “for a ceasefire in Sudan through all diplomatic channels”.

“I say clearly to the parties to the conflict: if you care about your country, then lay down your arms,” the message reads.

However, the Germans expected more decisive action from Germany on the issue of Ukraine, to which Berlin was actively supplying arms.

“This is exactly what is expected of you in Ukraine. Finally commit to a truce and stop arms supply,” wrote one reader.

According to another user, it turns out that the weapons in Sudan are bad and the weapons in Ukraine are good. In this respect, he wondered if Burbock was indeed the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

“Practice in ‘diplomatic channels’ in Sudan, you see, okay with Russia,” the user suggested.

Another reader ironically asked if guns bring peace. Commentators also regretted that the head of the country’s foreign ministry does not talk about peace in Ukraine.

Recall that on Monday and Tuesday, meetings were held at the UN Security Council under the chairmanship of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. At the first meeting, they spoke of effective multilateralism through the defense of the principles of the Charter of the United Nations. The second focus was on the situation in the Middle East.
