The State Duma has proposed to introduce a lifetime ban on renting electric scooters for drunk driving. Deputy Sultan Khamzaev approached the head of the Ministry of Transport Vitaly Savelyev with such an idea. RT has seen a copy of the letter.
The legislator noted that now fines for drunk scooters do not exceed 1.5 thousand rubles, while at speeds of up to 25 km / h they can paralyze others, kill people, including children .
“In this regard, I ask you to support the introduction of amendments to regulatory legal acts regarding the introduction of a lifetime ban on the rental of electric scooters by persons once administratively sanctioned for drunk driving , and to determine the position of the department,” reads the text of the appeal.
Previously, the Ministry of the Interior had included the rules for using electric scooters in the theory test for drivers.
