Wrong to say that he raised questions on Pulwama attack after leaving the post of governor: Satyapal Malik

Jaipur. Former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik has said that it is “wrong” to say that he is raising questions about the 2019 Pulwama terror attack only after leaving the post. Malik’s remarks came on Monday after Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent statement. Shah had said, “He is making allegations after parting ways with us.

He told reporters in Sikar, Rajasthan, “It is wrong to say that I am raising this issue when I am not in power. Malik said he had raised the issue even on the day of the attack. In February 2019, 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed in a terrorist attack on a convoy of security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama. Malik was the governor of Jammu and Kashmir at that time. He had recently alleged intelligence failure in connection with the attack and also said that the central government had refused to provide aircraft for the movement of security personnel.

Last week, when Shah was asked about the allegation that Malik’s recent summons by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was linked to his criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the government headed by him, he said such allegations were not true. This is because Malik was called by the probe agency earlier also. In an interview with India Today, Shah had said, “I can say with full confidence that the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) has not done anything that needs to be hidden. If someone is leveling allegations after separating from us, then media and people should evaluate him accordingly.

Malik on Monday described Defense Minister Rajnath Singh as a “serious candidate” for the post of Prime Minister, saying that “if he is destined to become the Prime Minister”. Asked about BJP’s prospects in next year’s Lok Sabha elections, he said, “I wish it a good performance, but nobody knows what will happen in politics and elections.” The current situation is difficult for them, they have to fix some things.

Malik claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not spoken on the issue of (Gautam) Adani and it will harm him. He said that the Prime Minister should also speak on the Pulwama issue and if there is any investigation then action should be taken. In the context of Rajasthan, Malik said that if the BJP projects Vasundhara Raje as its chief ministerial candidate, her chances of winning will increase. Assembly elections are due in Rajasthan later this year.
