National team volunteers should be tasked with protecting Russia’s state border, Andrei Kartapolov, head of the State Duma Defense Committee, said in an interview with URA.RU. According to the deputy, today in the Russian Federation there is no way to protect the entire border of the country by units of border troops.
- Therefore, there are now somewhat different ways to protect borders. But involving the local population on a voluntary basis, in my opinion, is quite realistic and understandable. Kartapolov stressed that today it is necessary to make a fundamental decision on the protection of state borders from popular fighters. Only after that he proposed to regulate the issue of creating conditions for the performance of tasks.
