Cameron Green gave away 39 runs in two overs. Defending the target, Mohammed Shami and Hardik once again bowled brilliantly in the early overs.

Hardik dismissed Rohit (two runs in eight balls) on the last ball of the second over. Green hit Hardik for a six in the fourth over but he and Ishan Kishan (13 off 20 balls) struggled in the powerplay. The team could score only 32 runs in the first six overs. Green hit his second and third sixes against Noor Ahmed in the seventh and ninth overs, but in the meantime, in the eighth over, Ishan Kishan played an aerial shot off Rashid Khan under pressure but was caught at long-on.

Tilak Verma (two runs in three balls) also got trapped in the same over. After Noor bowled Green (33 off 26 balls) in the 11th over, Tim David (0) was dismissed and Gujarat got hold of the match. Suryakumar Yadav hit two fours and a six against Rashid in the next over, while Wadhera continued his struggle against Noor by hitting fours and sixes in consecutive balls.

Suryakumar’s dismissal in the same over shattered Mumbai’s hopes. Wadhera and Chawla (18 off 12 balls) then hit some big shots but it was not enough for the team.
