One person fell victim to a terrible fire in the village of Sosva in the Sverdlovsk region, among the victims were dozens of residents of this village, who lost their homes and outbuildings. EMERCOM of Russia has published preliminary data on the consequences of the Sosva fire.
“92 buildings were damaged by fire. During the extinction and the clearing of the rubble, a dead person was found, ”reports the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations on the departmental channel Telegram.
Earlier it was reported that on April 25 in the urban-type settlement of Sosva in the Sverdlovsk region there was a major fire. The fire started with dead wood, then the flames spread to outbuildings and apartment buildings. Residents tried to deal with the fire on their own, but eventually had to involve several fire-fighting units – about 120 people and six Russian Railways fire trains and a Ministry of Foreign Affairs helicopter. The Ministry of Emergency Situations notes that the work of firefighters in Sosva faces a number of difficulties. First, the fire spreads quickly due to dry grass, and second, the flames are dispersed by gusts of wind up to 20 meters per second. In addition, there are no reservoirs in the village, and fire hoses had to be drawn to supply water to the extinguishing site – to lay the main lines of the Sosva River with a total length two kilometres.
