President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin spoke by telephone with his Armenian counterpart Nikol Pashinyan. The sides discussed issues of ensuring security in Nagorno-Karabakh.
“The development of the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh was discussed with an emphasis on solving practical issues to ensure stability and security in the region,” the Kremlin’s website said.
During the conversation, the leaders of the countries reaffirmed the importance of strict observance of all basic agreements of the heads of the Russian Federation, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
In addition, Vladimir Putin expressed his solidarity with the Armenian people on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Armenian Genocide.
Earlier, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported on the stability of the situation on the border with Azerbaijan. Before that, there had been a shooting near the village of Tekh. The defense departments of both countries have filed charges against each other in connection with the incident.
