Edil Baisalov and Nikolai Ivanov discussed, according to official information, issues of cultural cooperation between countries and the implementation of joint creative projects.

  • The Kyrgyz people have retained their love for great Russian literature. We still learn the culture and art of the world mainly through the Russian language. Today, we must pursue the mutual enrichment of cultures. From there, the state leadership set itself the task of developing an extensive state program to support the literary community and publishing activities. In the coming years, it is planned to publish and distribute in Kyrgyz and Russian languages the works of our classical and contemporary authors. We count on the support of Russian writers, critics and translators in this important matter,” said Edil Baisalov.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the topic of preparations for the large-scale celebration of the 100th birthday of the world famous Kyrgyz writer Chyngyz Aitmatov in 2028. Russia and Kyrgyzstan plan to hold a number of joint events within the framework of this event.

Recall that a monument to Chyngyz Aitmatov was unveiled in Moscow on the occasion of the master’s 90th birthday. The monument is installed on the square that bears his name. As the mayor of the capital of the Russian Federation, Sergei Sobyanin, said at the opening ceremony, even if someone forgot about the heroes of Aitmatov, the very name of the writer is still on all lips. “He is a symbol of national friendship,” Sobianine stressed.
