Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov has instructed prosecutors to ensure the legality, transparency and security of elections in new regions of the country.
“Large-scale elections are coming this year, in which the people of our new regions will participate for the first time. In this regard, prosecutors have been given specific instructions to ensure that voting is legal, transparent and safe,” Krasnov said during the annual report to the Federation Council.
As noted by the Attorney General, in 2022 it was possible to ensure an appropriate level of legality on Single Vote Day. At the same time, attempts by destructive forces to influence him were suppressed.
Earlier, acting DPR chief Denis Pushilin said tariffs in the new regions would reach the national average within 10 years.
