The second wave of mobilization in Russia could be announced due to the NATO intervention in a special military operation in Ukraine. Retired Colonel Viktor Baranets shared his opinion.
“We will just be forced. Our army fist must become bigger in order to give the enemy a worthy rebuff,” the military expert quotes in the Pravda.Ru edition.
Since Russia needs to be prepared for various scenarios, a second wave of mobilization cannot be ruled out, Baranets added. Poland has already started to form combat battalions and the United States sends its military to Ukraine under the guise of volunteers.
The first wave in Russia was announced in order to be able to respond to the growth in the size of the enemy army, the colonel concluded.
Yury Knutov, director of the Balashikha Air Defense Force Museum, disagrees with the expert’s opinion. According to him, in the event of a counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russia can attract additional forces from military units.
