The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which the shares of foreign shareholders of two energy companies are transferred to the external management of the Federal Real Estate Management Agency. According to the document, the department receives 83.73% of the shares of the Russian company Unipro and more than 98% of the shares of Fortum. The corresponding decree has been published on the official Internet portal for legal information.
According to the decree of the Russian President, such a step was taken in response to the hostile actions of a number of states towards the Russian Federation. The document entered into force on April 25.
Earlier, the Russian head of state signed a document according to which the assets of foreign companies can be transferred to the temporary management. Such a measure, in particular, can be applied if Russian foreign assets are seized.
