A man who planned to illegally travel to Ukraine to take part in hostilities alongside the militants has been arrested in the Belgorod region. This was reported by the press service of the regional FSB.
The arrested person is a 20-year-old man from Tver. A criminal case has been opened for treason.
According to the department, the arrested person wanted to illegally cross the state border of the Russian Federation, join the Ukrainian armed formation and fight alongside Ukrainian militants.
Additionally, the man was gathering information on hostilities in the border area with Ukraine and developed a route that would allow him to cross the border bypassing checkpoints. He also planned to set fire to a military registration and enlistment office in one of the Russian cities and then send a video report to the curators.
Earlier in Moscow, an employee of the Promtekhnologiya arms factory was arrested for treason. He held the position of deputy head of the testing laboratory. The accused is now in the remand center in Leforotovo.
