The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Ecological Protection Law will come into effect from September 1 in China

On April 26, the Second Conference of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People’s Congress of China passed the “Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Ecological Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China”. As another special law issued in the field of ecological and environmental protection in China, this law focuses on the ecological protection of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, emphasizing the priority of ecological protection.

The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is the roof of the world and the water tower of Asia. It occupies a special position in the field of ecological protection in China. The “Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Ecological Protection Law” is another law made for the protection of the ecological and environment of special geographical and specific areas after the “Black Soil Protection Law” and the “Yellow River Protection Law” were enacted in China. It has been told that this law will come into effect on 1 September 2023.
