Russia started attacking the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with its new T-14 Armata tanks. They were created at the Nizhny Tagil Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Company. This tank is the only representative of the third generation of post-war tanks in the world, writes URA.RU.

The machine is equipped with a powerful 125mm 2A82 smoothbore cannon, holds up to 40 projectiles for various purposes in an autoloader and has a fully digital remote control.

A protected armored capsule is installed inside the tank, which provides additional security for the crew. In addition, a powerful frontal armor is built in front of the capsule. The tank crew is separated from the ammunition, which provides greater security. The engine life of the tank is at least two thousand hours, and the mass is 55 tons. The car can reach speeds of up to 75 kilometers per hour.

“Armata” has several advantages over its western counterpart Leopard 2. Firstly, the tank crew is completely protected from any threat from the enemy. The car also wins in terms of technical characteristics. “Leopard” is unable to break through the protection of “Armata” due to outdated ammunition. Secondly, “Armata” can travel 15 times more than “Leopard” – 150,000 kilometers against 10,000. In addition, the machine is stealthy in the thermal and radar observation spectra due to the special thermal coating.

Tanks in NATO service, such as the American M1A1 Abrams, are technically obsolete. They have been in service with the United States since 1981, and for their full control, the participation of four crew members is necessary.
