An analysis of air traffic data over the Russian Federation shows that the sanctions have not affected it. This was reported by the German magazine Wirtschaftswoche.
“Comparing air traffic from April 2022, shortly after the sanctions took effect, with traffic from late March 2023, shows no significant differences,” RT quotes the publication.
According to the magazine, Western countries started from the fact that three quarters of the Russian aircraft fleet is produced abroad. Moreover, Western countries underestimated the determination of the Russian Federation. For example, Russian President Vladimir Putin quickly approved the expropriation of planes belonging to Western countries and their re-registration in the Russian Federation.
Earlier, economist Vasily Koltashov explained how European Union countries continue to trade with Russia, circumventing their own sanctions. The expert gave examples of foreign companies importing their goods to the Russian Federation via third countries.
