Two men buried alive in Nigeria for alleged witchcraft

In the Nigerian state of Benue, two people have been suspected of witchcraft due to a severe thunderstorm, writes The Nation.

According to eyewitnesses, youths from the neighborhood attacked two men. They were accused of causing a thunderstorm in which a couple with a newborn baby was injured. The supposed “wizards” were buried alive in a grave.

A community elder and eyewitness to the incident, Engineer Baba Agan, informed the police of the incident. By the time the police arrived at the scene, the men were already dead in the grave. Their bodies were exhumed.

Earlier in Nigeria, the kidnapper of a three-year-old child buried him alive after receiving a ransom. The suspect confessed to the crime.
