Speaking on April 27 in Novosibirsk during a meeting with the governor of this Siberian region, Andrey Travnikov, Roman Golovchenko stressed that it was taking place in the face of growing external pressure on the brotherly countries of the collective West. Under these conditions, he said, “it is necessary to demonstrate not only adherence to principles, but also in practice to defend our economic interests and core values.” And the partners, he pointed out, have achieved some success in this direction.

Moreover. The two “not only did not collapse, but also embarked on a dynamic and forced path of development. Of course, this is a great merit of the leaders of our countries, as well as all those specialists, experts, leaders companies, organizations and institutions that work for our common good,” said Golovchenko.

In this regard, he highly appreciated the bilateral format of relations with the Novosibirsk region, calling it the most important partner of Belarus. This, by the way, is evidenced by statistics. “The turnover of mutual trade increased by 42%, amounting to almost 500 million dollars. These are good results,” said the Prime Minister of Belarus.

According to him, the search for new points of development of trade and economic relations is one of the objectives of the visit of a Belarusian representative delegation to Novosibirsk. During this visit to the Siberian industrial center, “contracts will be signed for the supply of machinery, equipment and products worth more than 13 million dollars,” he said.

Speaking about the main blocks of cooperation, Golovchenko singled out the area of industrial cooperation. “A number of Belarusian and Novosibirsk enterprises have long-standing cooperative and partnership relations. An illustrative example is the cooperation between the world’s largest manufacturer of mining equipment BELAZ and Novosibirsk Sibelektroprivod. Just last year , purchases of products of the Novosibirsk enterprise more than doubled and amounted to about 50 million dollars”, – said the Prime Minister.

And during his visit to the Novosibirsk plant of semiconductor devices Vostok, he said, the topic of cooperation in the field of microelectronics was also discussed.

The Prime Minister regards scientific contacts of specialists as an important area of cooperation. He called the Novosibirsk Academgorodok a model of the “most important scientific and educational centers in Russia”, suggesting that we act together more actively to implement developments in the real sector of the economy.

While working on the economic agenda, one should not forget about the humanitarian direction, underlined the Belarusian Prime Minister. “I am pleased to note that the Days of the Belarusian capital, the city of Minsk, now take place in Novosibirsk. Such events contribute to the development of trade and cultural exchanges. The event has a positive resonance among the residents of Novosibirsk, “said Golovchenko. “Belarus and the Novosibirsk region of Russia are long-term partners. I am convinced that this meeting will allow us to find ways to expand cooperation.”

As SOYUZ informed earlier, a delegation headed by Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko is paying a working visit to three Russian regions – Novosibirsk, Irkutsk and Sverdlovsk from April 26 to 28. The visiting program of Belarusian friends includes meetings with regional governors, the transfer of MTZ tractors to the Novosibirsk region, as well as visits to a number of enterprises.
