Erdogan to attend online ceremony at nuclear power plant after illness

The President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, plans to attend the nuclear fuel delivery ceremony at Akkuyu nuclear power plant in the city of Mersin via video conference, which will be held on April 27. This was reported by Turkish TV channel A Haber, citing official representatives of the president.

Doubts about Erdogan’s participation in this event appeared last Tuesday. Recep Tayyip Erdogan then gave interviews to local TV stations, but at some point he felt bad. He interrupted the performance, which caused concern from the public and social media users.

In this regard, the Turkish President announced after some time that, to avoid health problems, he would not participate in a number of election events.

It should be noted that the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin will also be present at the event for the delivery of nuclear fuel to the Turkish nuclear power plant, also online. The press secretary of the Russian head of state Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Putin would participate in the ceremony by videoconference.

The Akkuyu nuclear power plant is the first nuclear power plant in Turkey, Russian specialists are actively involved in its construction.
